Can anyone tell me if there is any difference between these two vertical band saws? They appear to be identical in looks and specs right down to the blade size and hp ratings. Is one any better than the other as far as plastic parts vs. steel or they both identical other than color of the base?

I have heard that they are made in the same place/company. Any confirmation.

If they are identical, for those that own one or the other I would appreciate your feedback. Have you been happy with it, any issues? This is for metal not wood use.

Thank you.

Mike.

I have used the JET at school. It works great for cutting steel an aluminum thick and thin.

Thanks for the feedback.

I just got a call back from my local welding supply dealer and he informed me that they are both the exact same machine other than the color. They are both manufactured by WHM Tool Group and are only a few dollars difference in price. They have sold quite a few and have not had any complaints and/or problems. He informed me that they are about the middle of the road as far as quality, much better than the HF ones but not as rugged as the larger framed industrial machines yet quite a bit cheaper.
