Found an 8 inch Jet Bench Grinder at a yard sale a couple of weeks ago with a hefty stand (that would probably hold up a ship). It was kind of a mess so I did my best to bring it back to it's original glory.

Quite the nice job on the unit. Jet grinders are well worth the effort to bring them back to original glory. Now you need a 4" x 48" Multitool sander/grinder attatchment for this Beauty. Where did you find the proper color for the grinder, is it a pale Green ?

Andy Warhol said, "In the future everyone will have their fifteen minutes of fame." AFAIK, you can claim the first Jet grinder restoration ever posted here.

Probably not the exact proper color but it was Krylon Satin Nickel.

Nice job!

Thanks bb

Not sure if I am supposed to feel good or bad about this claim.

i would think bad..... i personally thought it strange to resto a jet anything. but i wouldnt call that a resto. more of a cleaning/ freshening. no harm intended, just my observations. anywho, nice looking grinder.

Cheers on a nice job

Mr. Bad... you defend HF jack stands and bash "jet anything" :headscrat

I won't generalize and say I like "jet everything", but I personally have 4 pieces of Jet equipment and remain satisfied with all.

My JET grinder that was bought new in 1980 is just now starting to show signs of its age, in spite of having been used in a garage with a falling down roof until 2001.

Sad to see a good old friend aging less than gracefully.

i did not mean to imply jet tools are junk. it just goes against the norm to restore them. typically it is 1950ish c-man, delta, atlas, etc. i have a couple jet tools and they are just fine. i am flattered you did your research on me before replying back tho. hope there are no hurt feelings.

Mr B, I applaud and thank you for the reply, this round is on me:drink: Certainly no hurt feelings on my part, not sure about the OP. Whether or not you appreciate the tool he put the effort into, he did put in the effort and with admirable results:bowdown:, and I appreciate that.

A big rowdy cheers "To the tools"
