Jet dust collector

So I picked this up on Saturday. It's a 2hp, 240v, DC-1200W-1

Problem is it is missing pieces. That and I didn't wire the garage for the little 240 plugs, just for the big Miller.

Anybody know what I need to get it working? It's kind of big and I don't do enough wood working to justify this machine, but the price was right. A marble importer a few miles away is moving their warehouse and panicking because they have to be out in 2 weeks. I got this and at least 1k pounds of stone for free.

I have the dual voltage, canister filter version of that.

You are missing the bottom bag and holder, there should be a rod that holds the top bag up.

They're a good little machine. I had one I used for woodworking which is now ventilating a paint booth. It won't die.

Yeah rod & bag (they’re disposable). There’a a cloth or felt or something ring inside the bottom that holds the bag on it may be there...the bag just wraps around it and it kinda snaps into place but you don’t see it from the outside.

I've got the rod for the top bag. Thanks for the input on the botto bag. Since it is disposable, should be easy to find.

Should I keep it or flip it to get something smaller? I don't have the space for it, but have been thinking of getting something like it as I hate filling the shop with dust. And about half the time, it's metal and grinding disc dust.

The jet bags are kinda expensive for what they are but you can empty and reuse them a few times before there’s a tear. But i splurge here, i hate emptying the bags.

Not sure how metal guys control dust, i thought those were different units.

I have the same unit but 1 1/2 on 110v with canister (footprint wise those are the same, the 1hp i think may be a bit smaller) and it’s perfect even thru 15 or so feet of ducting with 4 or 5 tool stations on it some i may run simultaneously and shutoff gates if needed. I wouldn’t want smaller than a 1 1/2 depending on what you’re doing....I had a 1 horse it was ok single tool but felt a bit marginal, they are sometimes smaller and with things like a planer they fill up quick but some will take those apart and put em over cans i’ve seen or use of a cyclone separator (yet more floor space) can separate the big stuff out first.

But ..if you do any woodworking moreso than just once in awhile, even an old 1hp for wood working beats the **** out of shopvacs, it’s night and day difference in noise and performance and emptying them, i wouldn’t go without one if i could fit it in someplace, assuming dustports,etc it cuts the dust a lot as it will collect the stuff shop vacs don’t due to the cfm, lots more fine stuff coming off the tool.

Dealing with all the different size ports is another matter...

It is not wise to mix wood and metal work with the same dust collector. The possibility of sparks with wood dust is an explosion waiting to happen.

But to the actual questions. The bag is easy to find (Woodcraft) and is basically just a heavy duty trash bag. The voltage is a different matter. You mentioned that you have 240 volts for your welder so tapping into that supply would be an option. Just install an outlet. But if the unit is too big anyway then I would just flip it and get a smaller one.
