New to the forum and first post. Figured you guys are the ones to ask. Has anyone on here used or purchased the Williams hi-vis wrenches? Is the finish powder coated? If anyone has these wrenches, I would like to know how they hold up to use and if you have close ups of the profiles (open and box ends). I am a technician for a lift truck dealership and they would be high use. Thanks for any help and have a great day.

I don't have any of the orange Williams tools but I think it is possible to order them from Industrial Supply Denver.

edit-looks like red or yellowish ones only go up to 1 and 1/4" don't see metric
black and chromes go way up to 3" or so I think they have metric
largest Williams USA combination wrench I have seen says "Supertorque" not "Supercombo"
have to look for "Williams USA" or "Made in USA" probably to get the right stuff

Ah, these are for planes. Yeah probably powder coated which means they're also likely to lose said finish over time. In your line you might just want to get something without this particular finish (regular polish) and just put a loop of some incandescent (glow in the dark) tape around the handles. Should be good enough.

You should probably call them and ask them but if the options are powder coating and just painting on a professional tool there's 99.9% chance it's going to be powder coated.

Why not just get a standard set and have everything powder coated except the ends?

If he were to color his wrenches himself would the paint or powdercoat stick to a black/industrial finish wrench better than to a chrome wrench?
I guess they would have to be wiped down with some alcohol or something before painting to get any oil off?

I would assume the best finish durability would come from a satin finish wrench, but I have no idea. A quick call to the powder coater would be a good idea.

I plan on calling a local powdercoater Monday. I googled it and looks like high polish chrome would have to be removed. Googled "Can black oxide surfaces be powder coated?" and didn't get any real definitive answer. We will see I suppose.
