You can pick up the 1/2", 3/8" and 1/4" for a total of $92.99 which seems like a good deal. If I didn't already have too many other sets of ratchets, I'd bite. I just bought a new set of USA Craftsman thin profiles ratchets last week for my truck toolbox but I'm sure these are better. Thanks for posting.

I get that they're USA made. and they look like pretty solid ratchets.

I'm not saying tooth count is everything. I know it isn't.

BUT what's the appeal of these? The S52 and B52 are 36T ratchets. I could see if you had one for a long time and were attached to it, but I don't get why buy one of these new.

And I'm genuinely asking I'm not trying to start an argument.

I made this post for the thread Tools you thought you'd really like - but don't:
The Williams pear head ratchets that use the old SO 936 internals.

They have too much backdrag.

I've owned 3 of them. Two normal 3/8" ratchets and one XL 1/2" ratchet. The only one I've kept is the long 1/2", but I don't use it very much. The others were sold.

Maybe they would loosen up after using for a long while, but they never loosened up for me. I'd prefer to use other ratchets that work well out of the box rather than using a ratchet I don't really like under the hopes it will loosen up.

But, the updated version of the Williams round head ratchets are great. I like them.
