Sholt that set was made overseas if you want it to be made in America look for a something from Williams that has both #'s and letters in the code.

XXX123 instead of just all numbers in the code.

I tried searching for USA made Williams tools on Amazon, but most of the time, COO states Taiwan. I'll need to check out their Catalog then, thanks for the info :)

Most of Williams line up made in Taiwan
No it's not, no more than MAC, Matco, Cornwell, etc. Look through the actual catalog. Amazon mostly just stocks the Taiwan stuff because of the cheap folks that are on there.

To the OP, Williams USA does offer 1/4" kits, but sadly are either MM OR SAE, I don't see any mixed sets like the Williams Taiwan/Blue Point set linked in the first post. They are also pricey...

If you don't need the case, building a set isn't too vicious on the wallet (Toolsdelivered has the best prices on Snap-On Industrial brands, they just drop ship direct).

If you do want a nice boxed complete portable SAE/MM set made in the USA, start looking at SK.

Oh I definitely don't need a case nor do I need the mix I cans build both sets separately. I'm switching careers to a transport mechanic so I don't know how often I'll be using them

Here's a good start (same sets I have at work).

WSM-11HRC 1\4" Shallow Socket Set 6-Pt, 11-Piece (USA Made)

WSMD-10HRC 1\4" Deep Socket Set 6-Pt, 10 Piece (USA Made)

MSM-12HRC 1\4" Shallow Socket Set 6-Pt, 12-Piece (USA Made)

MSMD-12HRC 1\4" Deep Socket Set 6-Pt, 12-Piece (USA Made)

Depending on how OCD you are (especially if using the Hansen style trays), any missing sockets needed to complete sets can be bought individually through Williams or Snap-On.

I have Williams USA 1/4" drive sockets and they are excellent. All Williams USA products are excellent for the price. As mentioned above, look at toolsdelivered.com for great pricing and easy identification of what products are made in USA.

Look at the design of SK and the other sockets. Some small bolts are inside a plastic piece and not all sockets will fit in the recess.

Thats the set I had, I returned it because the ratchet was ****, it would bind and wasnt very smooth, I checked out a couple other ratchets and they were the same.

Be aware that if you buy Williams from amazon, you will only be-able to warranty them through amazon.
