What are you guys running? I'm in the market for one and am leaning toward a corded model. Do those battery models have enough power for everyday jobs? What brands do you all like and why?

Depends on what you need it for , cordless work great for short bursts , a long cut draws hard on a battery , Either way I'm not fond of jigsaws , had a few and always been disappointed with the cut , I always reach for my circular saw

I've got the Milwaukee M12 cordless, and like Bigplum said, it works well for quick cuts but I wouldn't use it on a large project. Also have a corded Bosch with the top handle that I use on more demanding jobs, and it's pretty decent. Great for straight cuts, but I want a barrel grip for more fine control when cutting odd shapes. I'd love to have a Fein barrel grip, but they're too expensive for how often I'd use it!

This has been discussed before. I and many others recommend one of the Bosch models.
I've never had a cordless one, so I can't help you there.

Wamsutta,
"Buy the best, you deserve it" is a nice philosophy but it would keep us from doing things until we can buy afford the best of whatever item we are considering.
