We bought the Condo with the garage about a month ago. I finally have the time to start working on organizing it and setting it up.
My last place I had a shop, but no garage. I had divided it into a half home repair section and half automotive type tools. I am a remodeling contractor so I have a fair amount of home repair tools, but I love working on anything with a motor in it!
Here are some before pictures, excuse the mess;

I cleared out a section where I plan on setting up a work area and started building some cabinets.

I have a long way to go, but I'm glad I finally was able to get started.

I agree, thats a lot of space for a condo :thumbup: I like the bumpout work area.

I just saw your intro thread...did you move from Wadmalaw? We're on Johns Island..I think I might have talked to you on the 67-72chevy site before. (jcramsey over there) Good deal on getting to a better school district...No kids for us yet, but I'm holding onto hope that better schools are coming! Where did you end up moving to?

Yep, sold the farm, no more yard or farm work.
West Ashley, by the West Ashley High school. The wife wanted our son to go to a school over here and we are 10-15 minutes from the in-laws, which thankfully I get along with.

I read about this site on 67-72 Chevy, checked it out and jumped on board.
I traded my 69 Chevy for a new roof on the old place, plus some cash and the roofer bought my equipment trailer as well and hauled the 69 away on it.
Once I get a little more settled I will be getting another 67-72 project.

Some of my electrical upgrades, I added first 9 recessed can lights (before I researched how well they do in a garage) I was very disappointed so I added 3 florescent lights that I researched and they are awesome!
I also added 12 outlets, as there were only 4 in the whole garage.
I put a glow switch in that glows when the light is off so its easy to find in the dark. I also dressed up the outlets and switches with stainless steel cover plates.

The good ol' garage dog, Pilgrim, when its nice out I stretched a net across the garage door opening and he sits there and watches the neighbors walking by and other dogs and such. The net keeps him in, other dogs out, but lets the breeze blow in. I will have to get a picture of the net.

here's Pilgrim;

Some other updates'

The radio shelf/cabinet
the "legs" that hang down, I plan on installing some dowel rods across and put rolls of painting paper, plastic, paper towels, rolls of tape, just whatever will slide on dowel rods

Fishing rod holder, out of scraps

The spray paint cabinet (I did a thread about it a month ago or so)

I used a couple brackets and eye hooks and bungee cords to hang ladders over the garage door. Works pretty well.

We have to park one behind the other so to keep the wife from bumping our bumpers excessively I came up with the idea of hanging a flag of some sort from my bumper so as my wife gets close it starts to move. To walk behind my van and behind her car they have to be bumper to bumper.

I was able to get 4 more cabinet doors cut and painted over the weekend. Then while I had the black open, I painted the spray paint cabinet, lawn tool shelf face and the face of the stereo shelf/cabinet.
