The ratchet on its own is about a $15-$20 item. I picked up a JD 3/8" ratchet for 2 bucks this spring (new). Pretty decent little ratchet. Good heft to it. Not super-fine tooth, but I'd guess 42 or so. Nice chrome finish. If I remember correctly, it was from Taiwan. I have no experience with the sockets or extensions. I'm an IH guy, but even a $2 JD ratchet is hard to pass up!

The best tools from Deere are the USA made wrench sets. Since Im a Deere Tech student I picked each set up for half off and really like them. I got the 19pc metric set and the 14pc standard set. Really nice chrome finish and a long pattern that is easy to use.

I have one or two John Deere sockets, USA made. I'll eventually be selling them, if I EVER get done cleaning and sorting the used tools I've bought this year.

Does John Deere even sell US branded hand tools anymore? I was under the impression that when Bonney Quit making tools for them they went strictly Import, Im sure thats been many years ago. I have buddy that has some John Deere made wrenches and i swear they look identical to My Snap On's, He says that Snap on made tools for them during a brief period but im only aware of Bonney Personally.

I was told 80% of Deere's hand tools are made by Stanely but dont know if these USA wrenches are or not.

JD offers imported and USA tools. I believe the USA offerings are mainly wrenches and screwdrivers. That set is an import, but worth what it's selling for right now. Lifetime warranty is easy via any JD dealer, and JD will stand behind it.

That is a cool screwdrive Monte...but must be 10+ years old since it's got the old JD logo on it.
