John Deere new boxes look to be the exact same thing as the Menard's masterforce line of tool.boxes. Any opinions on the masterforce boxes here should give you an idea about them. If you live near a Menard's, I didnt notice your location, go look at there boxes to get an idea of what they are like. Historically Deere boxes were Waterloo's, but that changed a few years go. If you can stomach a Case IH or NH box, they rebadge SO KRA boxes for what I feel is a damn good price.

John Deere boxes like the one posted are made by Montezuma. Compare models to those available through strictlytoolboxes.com

It definitely looks like a Montezuma, however, I would point out that the specs of the John Deere box are lower than the comparable Tool Vault/Montezuma that Strictly Toolboxes sells.

The John Deere box has 660lb casters and 150lb drawer slides. The Tool Vault TV-7224TC, made by Montezuma, and the closest thing to this John Deere box on the Strictly Toolboxes website, has 900lb casters and 250lb drawer slides.

It certainly looks like a nice box, but keep in mind that there's been some cost-cutting there to get it down to that price point.

It does have double-slides on all drawers that will accept them, so 300lbs on 10 of the drawers.

The concerning part is the "1,300-lb. total load capacity" part. If all of the drawers were loaded to max drawer capacity, you've got a 3,750lbs load in a box that can only support 1,300lbs.

So would I be better off buying a montezuma tool box over this one?
