I have a question. Has anybody every replaced their standard drawer slides with ball bearing ones. I have a warranty returned Model TY19988, we had a customer return it because it rusted. I let it sit there for like 9 months out behind the dealership, and then finally when I graduated college and was getting a teaching job they told me to just take it and make it go away. I actually took it to school, I teach Wood shop, construction and CNC classes and put it use as a CNC tool box. It works and looks great the kids cleaned sanded and painted it, but I just hate that it slides are tough when loaded with tools. Here's the link http://www.deere.com/en_US/parts/homeandworkshop/products/tools_and_tool_storage/ty19988.html.

Any help would be appreciated on locating parts. Thanks

not sure who makes deere's boxes, roller bearing slides ive looked at are thicker than standard friction slides.. the drawers are slightly smaller to accomadate the rollers, a GOOD set of friction slides will last a long time.

a fairly standard BBslide is 1/2 inch thick
open one drawer and measure the distance between the outside edge of the drawer and the inside edge of the box

Thanks thats exactly it. I forgot to mention in my post that I was a mechanic at a John Deere dealer out here in PA for 5 years, and that box was really durable, but now in a "Machine Shop" setting it would just be nice to have smooth roller bearings. The drawers can get pretty loaded down with collets, cutters and jigs, ease of movement would be nice.

I actually showed your building the other day in class when we were talking about rafters and insulation. I would love to have your building, we bought our house here in Lancaster Pa so one day I can build something like yours.
