hi guys, im John and new on here, ive been looking on here for a couple months for ideas...

im 26 y/o and my gf is 22y/o... we bought a house 2 years ago and we had a 12x20 garage/shed which we knew will not be enough for us and knew we where going to build a new bigger garage, we both love cars and do everything ourselfs when it comes to mechanics, and i also do all my powdercoating when we moved to our new house i blew a ringland in my 09 subaru wrx so i had to rebuild my engine and since the shed is not that big we did it all in god's garage (outside) lol

anyways, fast foward 2 years later i have a fully built wrx with a Garrett GTX3576R...

oh and our garage build has started! :)

we are building the biggest we can for our lot and house size, the house is 32x28 and the garage will be 30x30 with 12.8' celling made of 2x6 with a 4/12 trusses, it will also have 2 10x10 garage doors, 1 34" man door and 2 3x4 windows on the back wall.

enough writing on to the pics:

posted my old shed for free on facebook and 1h later a guys came to pick it up:

let the backoe work begin:

then we got the 3/4 crushed stone in... around 50 Tons :/

got the lumber to form for the floating slab:

inspector came and gave us the OK to start with concrete:

Got the lumber to start building the wall!

Looking good so far. Are you building it or using a contractor the the new garage.

The old building was gone quickly. Looks like he had moved other buildings and knew what to do . How far did he move it?

Hey nice build so far. Question for you. I'm looking to do a 30wide by 36deep with a single 18' door in the center. How do you feel space is there width wise. Would 3 cars across fit? Room to move around tools, self, jacks, etc. I mostly work in VW/Audi so nothing to wide. Ive drawn it up in some app and it seems like it would work but actually seeing it is another story. Keep it up!

Great build OP . . . . +1 that you have beautiful piece of Canada as backdrop !!

Curious if you'll be building a breezeway between the house and shop ??

Also, please tell us you have plan for LIFT or LIFTS (ie plural) with that tall shop ?? :D

Welcome to GJ and keep the pics a coming.

thanks guys, yes i will be installing a lift this is why i did the celling 12.9' but it wont be right away because you all probably know how it is, everything is more expensive then you had first estimated so im going diwn in my budget really fast and there wont be any left for a lift but i will get one eventualy

its already alot more then i had, just rolling my floor jack on a concrete slab is awesome lol

i did abit of work on the car last night in MY new garage :)

did a lil fender rolling and bleed my brakes

today im installing my doors and if i have time i wanna start getting all my tools in the shop

(ive been living with all my tools and stuff in a 6x10' trailer for a month now) :/

Is it the pictures, or is the garage not square to the house?

no its not sqaure to the house because i have a triangle property so placing it like this was the only way i could fit a 30x30 garage...

heres the plan of my property
