It’s a trivial amount, $20, but maybe that makes it worse. Anyway, I suggest caution in your dealings.

I was looking for a certain type of screwdriver. He said he had some. We agreed on the price, $20, and I sent it to him in cash.

He confirmed by PM that he got the cash, but he’d been sick, he’ll ship in a couple days. Couple weeks go by and he’s not responding to PMs.

Now it’s been a couple months, and while I pity a guy that has to steal $20, when I saw another post about him being a problem (post 38 in https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=378030&page=2). I figured I should post up my experience for the benefit of the community.

In case you haven't been back to that thread Jim, he is no longer a member here. I deleted his classified threads also. He has a prior history here with several other usernames.

No doubt, he will be back at some point in the future.

That's the guy. Do not deal with Derek "Lee" Allison.

His profile for Derek420 is still active, although he publicly claimed to have lost the password.

Mailed him an item in trade a year ago in Sellersburg, IN. Though his recent profile claimed he lives in Louisville, KY, just a few minutes away from there.

He did not send his item or respond to pm's. He did send my item back without any explanation. So I was out just the shipping cost. I called him out publicly on the forum when he later proceeded to state in a thread that he was looking to trade items with people. At which point he went off the deep end and cursed out the whole forum (for those who forgot) and was banned.

He also tried to buy an item from me a few months back using the first name "Lee" under his last user name SnapOnAddiction. (Also banned)
