Joint fillers in control joints before epoxy

I rep a single component hybrid polymer joint filler (caulk) with a 80 Shore A hardness/ low movement; is it adviseable to use a joint filler before the epoxy floor goes down?

I think it is a personal preference, but I used Sikaflex 1CSL after etching.
