What would you need that size of wrench for?

I'm not a trades person or pro of any sort but I've still found some limited use for large wrench sizes. However, not enough to warrant the expense or storage space to buy a set of jumbo wrenches. Instead, I added a large Knipex pliers wrench to my set of smaller pliers wrenches. The 12" version will turn a 2-3/8" nut and has helped me out a number of times now.

Agreed. I think it’d be cool to have a set of these wrenches, but I don’t want to dedicate storage to them nor do I think I’d use them more than once per decade.

I've got up to 1-5/16" and anything above that gets a giant crescent. If I owned a piece of equipment I'd grab this set.

Pfft, topping at 2" ain't even that big ;)

And I fail to see how having a tool you use once every decade is problematic. Some of you guys definitely aren't gonna win the game when you die....

This was good advise! Thanks! :)
I searched and ordered from Google shopping.
There was a 20% off coupon for new users. It came from Zoro.
Works perfect for my needs.

Pliers will do a nut like on an axel bearing that does not have much torque on it, but they will not touch something with a couple hundred ft. pounds on it. I am a farmer and have a couple sets like that. I do not use them every day or even every week, but when I need them they are priceless. I do not keep them in my box, but they have a spot on the shelf close to the box. 1 service call from the dealer buys a lot of wrenches!

And if you still get a hankering for even larger wrenches, there is always the Knipex Pliers Wrench XL which opens up to 3-3/8"

With sixteen inch handles and having to hold the jaws closed I cannot imagine being able to turn a 3 3/8" but, bolt, or fitting with these. Maybe if you used a ratchet straps to clamp them shut, but still?

The Knipex pliers are amazing tools. Definitely not wrenching off highly torqued bolts of that size, but they don't spread open like a pair of Channellocks.

I don't know from personal experience, but FWIW, Knipex claims that the pliers wrench jaws have a 10-to-1 grip ratio (jaw grip to hand grip strength) which should allow for over 2200lb of jaw grip strength. And in this video, the Knipex gentleman claims that the XL pliers wrench is able to apply over 300 ft-lbs of torque:

+1 for plier wrench (especially for a DIY person with limited expense and storage like me). I own 10" and 5" version.

Having said that, if I am maintaining some equipment and need jumbo wrenches regularly, these are very good deal. I have seen used jumbo wrenches in garage sale that cost more than these...

I do not own Sunex wrench but have their sockets. They made some quality stuff imo.

The youtube video makes me want to get the XL plier wrench even though I have no need for it lol

I've got these as well as the next biggest version of these and a very small pair (that lives in my toolbox). I use them all quite often and you can definitely apply a surprising amount of torque as long as you adjust the jaws accordingly so you can easily squeeze the handles.
