They are all still just a battery in a box with short cables and an AC charger, and all that really matters is the quality of the battery.

I bought the JNC 770 - new model - a couple weeks ago - It works perfect.

Used it to start several cars and a couple trucks already. I can't imagine anything that would work better.

Just yesterday I went to start one of my lesser used trucks and the battery was dead. I had to charge it over night to get it to start because I couldn't get at it with another truck to jump it. This made me consider buying a jump pack, but I will very, very rarely use it. So, lets say I find a good deal on eBay or Amazon on one, but don't end up using it until next summer or something. Will leaving it plugged in all day, every day for months at a time ruin it like other battery powered items?

Clore changed their charging circuitry some time ago to prevent damage if it's left plugged in full time. That said, you really don't need to keep it plugged in. 24-48 hours every month or so should be plenty.

I got a little one at Napa that was in our hot deals section a few months back. Has worked great. I have not needed it yet. (knock on wood.) But I have jumped a couple cars in our parking lot at work. I guess I should get it out of the trunk and check and charge it again. Rich
