Jumper Cable Clamp Ideas?

I'm sick of using poorly made jumper cables and having to wait for the batteries to charge up to start. Ideally, I want cables that are efficient enough to start the dead equipment with the donor batteries right away.

So.. I picked up about 100' of 2/0 wire to make two sets of 25' jumper cables. Now i'm looking for some clamps that will transfer the power. I found these: http://startingequipment.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=16_58&products_id=249 but they're quite pricey. Anyone know of anything that matches these clamps' power transfer at a fraction of the cost?

This is the style I have on my cables. http://www.dbelectrical.com/p-2324-...9oBJHnw0qJqVdVFzL6bhZuR7WyR04bHsZaRoCL2zw_wcB

I jump start a lot of equipment at my day job. It's a night and day difference between those craptastic Wallyworld cables and a good set of either homemade or higher priced cables.

Ayuh,... I built my cables with those clamps on 4/0 weldin' cable,....

While they're probably the best jumper cables possible,...
Thinkin' you can jump a piece of equipment, without warmin' the dead batteries 1st, is a fool's dream,...

I use these on my F350s jumper cables. They are only 500 amps, but jump of my 7.3 easily when it is dead. It laughs at smaller cables.

Adding an Anderson connector in their also always a lot of interesting options. I have the jump lead permanently installed on the 350 with an Anderson connector sticking out the grill. I don't even have to open the hood to jump it, or to jump another car off. I also have extensions to I can get range if I need it, but don't have to uncoil a whole 100 ft for short runs.

Unless you are planning on jumping off a ship 2/0 may be over kill. But if you have it might as well use it. I had some, but I have switched to 2 gauge. It is just a lot easier and lighter to deal with. I've jumped of 18 wheeler and earthmoving equipment without any problems.

I agree on the welding cable, made mine 30 years ago and still working great. As a test we tried a buddy's cheap cables and no go. Setup the welding ones and no problem.
