I am going through old tools I have which may or may not be worth keeping. I would like to post some photos and get expert opinions. Thanks guys, in advance.

Here are some more photos. I was thinking that if any of this stuff is worth having I would put it in classifieds for people who might like it. In addition there are a couple of items I could not find identity for; and I looked hard in AA but didn't find anything. It could be that the ones I can't identify come from sort of "fly by night" makers who were only around a short time. If anyone can id the Select Steel wrengh and the Chrome Molybdenum wrench that would be great; and if anyone recognizes the type faces of the two examples with the makers' names ground off that would be great too. I thought they might be Proto or possibly Plomb.

I am wondering in general about putting these old tools in the classified. I don't see this sort of thing there; but maybe somone who uses the forum would like this sort of thing. Ideas?

Not high dollar stuff. Usually see stuff like that sold in lots on ebay.

You mean just one lump price for all the items? I suppose I could do that. I like ebey OK to buy stuff, I really don't like selling it too much but if I want to find it all a new home ... Would it be wasting everybody's time if I put it up as a lump item in our Classifieds?

In the 4th photo on your first post, there's a deep offset double box wrench between the Walden wrenches. Are there any markings on it?

The Chrome Moly No. 93 tappet wrench is Vlchek.

There are markings on that deep offset box wrench but they are very hard to see. I only know it is Walden Worcester because I can see the letter and number C385 and they are in Walden typeface and size, and to the right of the numbers I can read WAL and then nothing for a bit and further along the letters TER and next to that faint 7/8 and then CHROME. On a line underneath all of that remains Made in US and underneath the C of Chrone is what looks like an N. I should add that without strong light most of the stamping is invisible.
I feel like an archeologist in an Egyptian tomb resurrecting ancient hieroglyphs with this wrench, it obviously has had a very hard life; it was either hammered on repeatedly or was used as a hammer on a regular basis. Its a big old boy, about 15& 5/8 long overall.
My friend Chester McReynolds was a logger and good old boy. After he died his daughter let me into his shop and there were lots of old wrenches etc. on the dirt floor. This was one of them. Lots of character here!

I just did a little more homework on this wrench; and among other things it is not mentioned in AA; in fact no dual boxes of this era appear, or at least I did not see any. I did see some sockets with the words "Chrome" and underneath "Nickel" and both words were in a box. It is possible that was once the case with this wrench. I also saw one for sale on ebay; it is in Wisconsin; and it has another size marking before the Walden, which could be 13/16. This one may have had that as well. Interestingly the actual nut grabbing portion of the wrench I have is about 3/4" deep while the one on ebay has much thinner nut grabbing ends.

I have some large P&C wrenches as well as the Walden. Walden products are quite interesting in their own right, (although the double box wrenches are not particularly special); how many ways can you bend rods to do stuff? I enjoy old tools but am planning to move and there is a limit to how much stuff I want to take and so am trying to see if there is any interest in the old stuff I have.
I have two other Walden items, which you may have noticed, one is a fixed socket affair with bent thick wire; and the other is one of those two socket items.

Sure! Go ahead and put those up in a classified GJ ad. Shipping large heavy items is of course costly but maybe some member who lives near you can pick them up and lighten your load before you move and give you a few bucks as a bonus. Don’t just toss them in the scrap bin.

We were fortunate, the Camp Fire passed us by.
I have been on Facebook and Craigslist with these old tools but no nibbles. I think I will try the Classifieds.
How do people put so many photos in Classifieds? The limit per post is 7 and I can take lots more photos than that!

It must be a good day for spring cleaning. I found a few orphans that are kind of interesting. I'm sure someone here would need something that I have in the orphan box. Maybe I'll post them is classifieds as well.
