Shop had a few vises, best of which was a 574 Rock Island for $150. The rest were of the "exposed screw/$15" variety. Quite a few other tool boxes too, incl 2 small Kennedys.

Was on the way back from an estate sale (7 books) & found this for $15. It's 17x9x9in

I have a small top box by All American (a rebranded Waterloo). Would it be possible to get a clearer picture of the decal so it could be used to make a new decal ?

Thanks ZRX61 !

I think I can work with that. Now all I need is to find the time to play in PhotoShop.

On the book front I found one called "Shop Tactics" which is a reprint of a book called "The Sensuous Gadgeteer". Nothing in there that I didn't know, just a cool book to have.
Then a 1918 copy of the USN "The Bluejackets Manual" & the 1941 "Analytical Mechanics for Engineers"/
The others were a coffee table book about Tanks, a oldish book about sailing knots/rigging etc, and others on aviation humor & an aviation electronics handbook. Paid $21 for the books :)

Cool box. Different than most cantilever boxes you see in the way the top opens.

Nice to know it's a Waterloo :)

I can't say for certain that your box was made by Waterloo, perhaps the guru's will weigh in. The consensus by the forum was that my box was a Waterloo based on the date stamp, welds, slides and handles.

All American may have been a value brand of Waterloo or AA may have contracted to different makers for different boxes. :dunno: IDK.

Is there a date stamp on one of the trays ? or on the inside of the bottom ?

I've seen a blue one like that at a used tool shop I go to from time to time. If the sticker had been complete I would have picked it up even though I don't need another carry box.

If I remember right, it either had a pull out tray or none at all. :dunno:

I intend to go back to the store sometime, there was a fairly comprehensive 3/4in drive socket set complete with ratchet, breaker bar etc. It an oversize tray like the kind that lift out of toolboxes... $65.00. Lots of other tools including a shelf full of rusty old wrenches.

Weird I was just thinking about mine yesterday. I was trying to remember the brand on the sticker. That's it! My dad gave me a brand new red tool box for Christmas in about 1976. I would bet it came from the army PX. He seldom bought gifts, mostly had my mother choose them. Now I'm going to have to search the depths of the garage for it.

Nice looking box. That will hold a ton of tools. Funny how the footprint is the same as the case of water it sitting on.lol

Nice case if it's all straight/no rust (looks like it is). Even has the snazzy trays. Every single one my local "junk" store gets are smashed to heck and less nice but about half of what you paid.
