Here's a few finds I just picked up. First off it pays to be friends with the local junkman that drives around looking for metal to recycle. Give him your scraps and let him know what you are looking for. I just picked up the pictured all stainless workbench. It came out of a pizza place. With the slightly angled front lip it wont let fluids drip on the ground. It will be perfect for carburetors, PS pumps, rear axle chunks and other messy projects. $50 delivered.
Yesterday (Friday Nov 6th) the next parish (county to the rest of you) East was having a 50 mile long "Main to Main" garage sale weekend. Always fun and weather was gorgeous yesterday. Didn't really want to spend too mch money but wanted to get out of house, have had bad back for over a week and still not up to working in shop.Walking around all the yard sales was good excersise without being too much.
Score 1 was at a fellow Mustang Club member's place. He showed me around his shop with three COMPLETED Mustang projects. Lots of inspiration there LOL. A bunch of sockets, about 12 were USA made, rest will go into spare/yard sale bin. Various small hand tools, most US. Need some cleaning and oil but looked and felt good. $4 total.
Score 2 an old mechanical jack. Works fine. Can anybody ID it? $3
Score 3 vintage Craftsman 1/2" drill. 5/8 horsepower, reversible, works fine, still has original cord with "Craftsman" on plug. $10 and I got him to throw in the wire brush.
Hmm still early enough to go to the local garage sales. Catch you guys later!
