hey guy's i need a wrench or two of them specifically.... o degree double box with one side ratcheting an 18mm and a 21mm is what i need FYI this is for adjusting rear toe on new bmw f body cars. i know i really only need those two wrench's but i can get a screaming deal on the 10-19mm set through matco SEP program... 142 bucks for a set that retails at 350+. should i pull the trigger or just spend about 50 bucks for the two wrenchs that retail for like 116 combined..................... and while its on my mind you guy's might shoot me in the wright direction in buying a locking 1/2" to 3/8" extension for transmission work would i be ok just getting the biggest one 33inch or is there going to be a time and place for the 24 and 18 inch models............ let me know what you guy's think i only have 1 day to decide what i'm going to do since the extra savings and free shipping ends on the 12th........

stay classy garage journal

It seems sets are always a better deal. You can never have too many. I always look for commonly used wrenches at flea markets or garage sales.
I just end up buying another full set.

Buy the set and also get atleast the 24in extention as well as the 33in. The 18 isn't really needed. I have the whole snap-on 1/2-3/8 extentions and only really ever use the longest two. The shorter ones are new only used a few times. Honestly my 1/2 impact doesmt get used much. Only for pulling wheels tylically. The new 3/8 guns have enough power to pull bellhousing bolts and such.

devon, what's the advantage of the 24" if i get the 33?

Many fasteners on modern cars require Goldielocks extensions.... sometimes if the
extension is too long the drive tool will be backing into something... obviously if it's
too short there is no room to get the drive tool on.... These days you have to have
an extension that just right.

I find this to be true to some extent and can replace a lot of gadgets with the ideal extension/socket combo.

If you buy the set, you are still going to need to pick up the 21 right? You said the matco deal was for a 10-19 set. I definitely vote set, though. Science has proven that a ten piece set looks five times as awesome in your box than a two piece

Truer words have never been spoken. I personally would get the 21, 24, 27 add 32 later.

the 9mm is really the only worthless wrench there, the rest you will use eventually!

21, 22, 24, 27, 30 come up a lot as well

thx guy's i ordered the set, and i will agree that a 22 24 maybe a 27 and once a year a 30mm would be needed, but not in the dealership. they use the sizes that they use and the hardly ever change. i havent touched a 12 14 15 22mm tool of any kind since ive been at the dealer. thanx for the advise ill post up when my stuff arrives

Goldielocks extensions
confused on what this means???? the extension i'm looking at is sole purpose is for transmission bell housing bolts, i don't see how there will not be enough room for it but maybe i'm missing something????

That the extensions are mythical they are either too short or too long.

Depending on what you are working on, you may need several different extensions. Say for instance you have a shorter trans extension. This may leave you in a tight spot where your impact won't fit and you only have a few degrees to swing your ratchet. A few more inches, and you may be in the clear. Same applies to having too long extensions. You may be bumping up against a cross member where a few inches shorter and you would have room to work. More choices are great.
