Perhaps the moderators need to consider creating a specific group for certain manufacturers. I am sure readers are getting tired of hearing people say use the search button. There are two or three brands that people seem to have questions about -- specific to that brand... Maybe there should be categories for the handful that keep coming up.

it is already a commercial vendor sales site. I assume the moderates get paid for the blantant marketing done on this site. Other forum sites would not let vendors identify themselves or promote their own products. better to have professionals and end users here than salesmen.

Couldn't agree more as it seems like a bias opinion!

On balance, if this place didn't have the participation of certain vendors, this place would be devoid of a lot of valuable information.

It's safe to say every forum is different. We participate in a more industry specific forum which will not allow industry people to plug product without being a sponsor.

This is great for us as we do sponsor the site but it does limit the conversation to what I promote or the other sponsoring vendors. Therefore, the viewer gets a limited scope.

Here, everyone has a crack at it, sponsor or not.

In addition, I think most of us contribute with and without promotion.

Pauloman, I am sure I have seen a link or two to your site here. Say hi to Norm and your goat for me. :)

Justin, I think it's a good idea and pauloman without all the free advice from certain vendors on here lots of guys would be spending big money correcting mistakes made on their garage floors.

I have never seen any of the vendors here talk bad about another brand of product, except the stuff from the big box stores, which isn't very good anyway. They have given great information to the members here, even when they don't sell that product. I am thankful they spend the time here to help and like bdamico says, without them there wouldn't be much traffic here.

I personally like the input given by vendors they are what makes the garage journal interesting. A lot of products out there I did not know existed I have personally not seen any negative reports about vendors saying their products are better. Everybody does their own thing with their flooring whether its race deck, pvc, epoxy, tile they all have their purpose and price from cheap to expensive. Justin sells almost every type of flooring in existence so in my case I value his input, if you want epoxy, modular, pvc, cabinets he's got it all so you can make your own choice.

I would like to see the out of date and unmaintained sticky in the flooring section replaced with a simple run down of popular flooring options and links to active/recommended vendors.

I don't see a problem with site sponsors identified and listed first.

I do think replacing the poorly maintained sticky would cut down on a lot of the repeat basic questions.
