I can't help the OP much except to say that I've read of some folks having good luck with SImple Green….but I know that can be caustic on aluminum.

I have a Gray Mills parts washer…a big rectangular one. I use Agitene in it. It was given to me by a friend and as helpful as it is once in awhile….I'd really rather find a home for it that have it tie up the floor space.

Could that temperature cause the Purple Power to release anything you wouldn't want to inhale ?

Heating the tank makes a big difference in how much work you have to go to in order to fully clean the parts. You can add a simple plug in timer to let you bake parts overnight or several hours and then shut off to save power if needed.

Dishwashers have a larger element that can be mounted under the tank, but it won't be as efficient as direct contact with the element used in hot water tanks.

There are some drop in heater elements meant for deicing or warming the water troughs in pastures. Go look at your farm supply or TSC to check those out. They are self contained and about $50. Some only deice, but some will go up to 130F readily.

This is one of the better heater element installations I've seen. I may try this instead of my original plan.

the rotating parts washer we had was safety kleen using water based cleaner for the heated one , the normal safety kleen solvent based is only glorified kerosene
