Won two bins of scrap from an auction at work. I'd looked really closely at the pics they had and saw the Wilton vise and a couple of other things (like the big floor jack that isn't in the pics). I already took 580 lbs of scrap steel and iron to the scrapyard today -- paid for my gas and trailer rental from UHaul.

Here's the total haul that I kept except for the floor jack.

Anyway, the bad news is that the Wilton is frozen in place -- Please point me to links on how to try to fix this. Here's the vise pics:

Obviously some work to do on the Wilton, including unfreeze it, take it apart, strip, repaint, new swivel adjusters (or used ones, whatever), etc., etc. All help welcome on how to do this!

Here's the big surprise, a nice Chas Parker vise that was hidden in the middle of one of the bins. Sweet! Seems to work except for the swivels. One is broken off and the other appears to be frozen.

I also got a few smallish (ha!) pipe wrenches. These things are heavy! 48 inch and 36 inch plus two big chain wrenches. Any thoughts on value on the secondary market on these? I really don't need them for household work!

There was also the "Linkmaster" tool. I have no idea what it is for...

Also got the analog scales (in the foreground of the first pic of the first post) for trailers or, I guess you could use them on cars. I'll see if they are accurate and then put them to good use! Here's the tag info on them:

I also got this Hydrashear tool (also in first pic of first post), which I have no clue as to it's use or value.

There's a couple of pumps that you can see in earlier pics as well as a bottle jack. Also a hose reel with some fire hose on it. Don't really need any of those except the bottle jack (can't have enough of them). More craigslist fodder...

Hope you enjoyed this!

Nice. I love those old Trimont/Trimo wrenches (specifically the 1911 pattern). My first was a 12-inch monkey I got in an antique store for $18 in mint condition. Been cruising eBay trying to complete the collection, but it's slim pickings.

Is the Trimont/Trimo pipe wrench a 36" and if so, is it for sale? I have a nice 48" Trimont that I picked up a while back as well as several shorter versions, but I don't have a 36". I will be in Vegas for meetings in 4 weeks if you don't want to ship it.

We used those scales to weigh pallets for loading aircraft. Those puppies are not cheap! Here is your official U **** :)

If it were me, I would start soaking that Wilton with Kroil and be very patient, occasionaly applying gentle force to the soaked areas. You made a nice haul there. Those huge pipe wrenches are not cheap, either.

Mix up some mineral spirits and transmission fluid in a container to completely cover it. Every few days take it out and give it a few wacks with a hammer.

Ditto the solvent and the hammer. I soak frozen stuff in a 5-gallon pail full of kerosene, leave it in there for a week. I'd take it out, whack with BFH, and if no movement, try to clean off as much rust and **** and dirt as I can, then put back in the kerosene for another week. Try again.

The Wilton is back in the electrolysis tank with the electrode run right down the center of the vise. If this doesn't work, I'll move back to penetrating oil, starting with Kroil this time.
