Just got a notification, someone quoted me in a thread I never commented in. Followed the notification link and it went to the same user but not my post... as I never made a post.

Quote doesn't have to be from the same thread. When you grab a quote, it hangs in the quote que til it's dropped or the gets added to a message. For example, I grabbed this from some other thread you were part of:

Someone can accidentally quote you and not notice it, post it later on.

If they don't see it, they don't delete it out I've done it a few times myself.
