Pretty pumped about this purchase. It needs a few things and a good trip to the electrolysis tank, but it sides and runs! Gotta try to find the date of manufacture today. Should be in the 50s. Trying to locate a bolt for the guard. Anyone know the name of this kind of bolt or where I can get one? (last three photos)

Thank you for the picture help!!

Best is to upload pics directly to the site using the "Manage Attachments" button after clicking "Go Advanced" under the quick reply box.

For parts, or more info on your saw, OWWM.org is the best for all things Delta.

Edit to add, your pic links aren't working.

This is the best option going forward. A lot of forums learned a hard lesson with the photobucket fiasco. I consider what they did a violation of the freedom of speech. How much information was lost with that move?

I have been uploading all files full size to imgur adding the "l" modifier and then pasting the links in the manage attachments url option. This gets them hosted on this site with reasonable file sizes.

I don't think anyone has decoded the Multiplex serial numbers, but Delta bought Red Star ( the original maker of the Multiplex) in 1948. I had a 40-a for a while, and while it was certainly very accurate and had plenty of power, the lack of detents made it kind of a chore to return it to a 90 degree cut. The 40-b corrected that, but was only made for a short time before the 40-C came out. I had one of those , too, but much preferred the looks of the 40-a. For cut off work, it doesn't leave much to be desired; it's the machine that made Delta a contender in the RAs market.
