I have to say that I am very impressed with the new Milwaukee stick light! This thing is so bright that you can't even look anywhere near the 3 LED's. The size is a little smaller then I was thinking it would be, which is a good thing. The hook moves, so you can either hang it from the top, or slide the hook back and hang it from the middle. The only thing that I wish it came with is a magnet, but thats not a deal breaker. I had been using the EZ Red cordless work lights for many years now. Those worked pretty good when new, but the battery life after they are about a year old is no longer acceptable. l love the fact that when the battery in the Milwaukee light dies, I can just switch it out for another battery and keep working. This is another great tool in the Milwaukee M12 line.

I just found that Milwaukee sells a magnet for this light. It screws into a threaded hole in the back of the light. The price for that magnet is $20 though, seems a little steep for just a magnet!

Yep so now that someone has one, could you please post for us the thread pitch of the nut this accessory goes into?

Would love one, but $80!?!? The regular worklight is $25. Those must be some very expensive LEDs.

So where did you get the M12 stick light?

I got it at CPO Milwaukee. I ordered it a couple weeks ago, and it finally showed up today.

The threaded hole is 1/4"x20. I'm surprised, I was expecting it to be metric.

I was paying about $80 for the EZ Red lights I have been using, and they are only good for about a year before the battery doesn't hold a good charge. I have tried a few other cordless work lights, but the EZ Red lights were the only lights that worked well for me. I expect to be even happier with this Milwaukee because I can swap out the battery when it dies. Time will tell.....

Makes sense - standard for cameras and tripods and all that sort of mount.

Thanks so much. I been thinking about it, but not having the magnet included was definitely a factor. Its just principal but I didn't like the idea of paying extra for one.

Just got mine the other day as well, and likewise had been using the EZ Reds. My main problem with them was usually a couple good falls and they were screwed, and we've had the hook break off 2 of them, which generally results in a good fall.

My jaw's still dropped that I spent that much for a light that doesn't even include a battery, but it looks sturdy as hell, and I've got M12 batteries coming out my ears from the free battery promo. I will say the battery life is a bit short especially since I'm using 2.0ah batteries, and the light output is a lot warmer (color, not heat) than I expected, but overall, it beats having to have at least 2 EZ Reds to be sure I have a working light.

I noticed the color output of the light as well. It is not as white as most other LED's, including Milwaukee's own flashlights.

From what I see that's $80 for the light only. Add a battery and a charger. Now what are you up to $125 ? I suppose it's good if you have batteries from another tool already.

Another reason to love milwaukee M12 or M18. Time to join the M12 line.

I'm waiting for the oscillating M18 tool and other various Fuel line.

Looks like a nice addition to my M12 collection. But at $80 might wait on it a bit.

Got mine from CPO for $63.20, 20% off the regular price of $79 when purchased with a new tool of some kind. Placed my order Thursday morning and it was waiting at my doorstep when I got home Friday evening. They didnt have the magnet base in stock. I figure I will try to find a magnetic attachment for a camera. I found 1 on amazon for 14.99+3.99 shipping

ETA-here is 1 on ebay for $9.95 shipped, 2.6" across, 65lb pull force so if you leave it stuck to the car it will likely stay there.lol

Can you be more specific?

3-4 hours or so I'd say, but I'm not exactly using it constantly and timing it with a stopwatch. Not a really big deal for me since I have a few spares and I can just swap them... a big plus over a built-in battery like the EZ Red where it's out of commission until it's charged. It's got a battery gauge too, unlike the LED flashlight, another nice feature. Oughta have some features for the price.

note to self: grab a strong magnet and a 1/4" screw at the hardware store. Save $15. :D

Used mine today at work with a 1.5ah battery. Used it off and on and then it stayed on steady for about an hour. Still shows 3 LEDS on the battery gauge.

No, I totally agree on the battery thing. I've been saying that forever; I hate cordless tools that have built-in, proprietary batteries. If they start to fade the whole tool is junk, or you've gotta open it up and hope you can get a replacement. Plus obviously the whole tool is down while recharging. I have a Bayco cordless LED stick light and it just seems weak after a few years, but I can't easily get at the batteries.

The Craftsman Nextec fluorescent has a battery gage, but it's just three stages: green, yellow or red. I prefer the 4 dots of Milwaukee. The Nextec claims 1.5 hours run time per charge (obviously the flo is not as effecient as LED) and I'm not sure it even gets that. But for $30 and with two very nice built-in magnets, it's my stick light of choice right now.

If you see battery is the driven-feature of owning a certain brand, you have to choose Milwaukee. I believe their battery is more superior to all the other ones (dewalt, makita, or bosch), according to their designs.

I've been messing with Li-Ion batteries for a long time before I committed to Milwaukee M18 line. Not many ppl will compare batteries but I believe it's the most important.

They just came back in stock at CPO so I ordered it. I also ordered the M12 3/8 fuel impact so I got 20% off of everything but the impact. Also got the 3/8sq -1/4hex adapter.

Tlso got the 3/8sq -1/4hex adapter.

Smart man. In most cases that's all you need and don't need a dedicated 1/4" hex impact. Generally when driving lags or decking screws clearance is less of an issue so the longer snout created by the adapter doesn't matter much
