My CL find just in time to be fitted with a restored vise I'm working on.

My immediate plan is to strip it or blast it, Prime/paint, install vise, and castors. It has 1/4 thick steel top and that long shallow top drawer will be very nice to keep the table top clear of mess.

Nice score . . . . that bench sure does look STOUT !!! ;)

If you'll share what you paid, the YS accolades could reign down !! :D

I agree, that looks sweet and it would be kind of interesting to see what you coughed up. For reference, I took a 5'x3' steel welded welding table in trade for $50 worth of small engine work....and its rough.

I paid the fella $65 for the bench and another $10 for a 4' x 5' sheet of 10ga steel. I'll pass more pics when I get to work on it but I suspect it was a factory produced table probably for a machinist piece of equipment...maybe a lathe or ?? There's four corner holes in the center of this table (for a lathe?). Also, I believe there's a hinge or pivot of sorts under the table top so it can be lifted up. So dang heavy, I can't understand how that would be practical...more investigation required on that. You'll notice the top is offset in relation to the rear base...I believe that is allow a ledge for the top to rest on if its raised up with that inner pivoting arms I mentioned earlier.

Here's two casters that were just too tall (8in) for this table. But I had to buy them for a future project that has yet to be defined...
