Just Inherited This Snap On Balancer

I've just inherited this Snap On tire balancer-but- It's missing the power cord. It appears to be proprietary but I'm not sure and at a loss. A Snap On rep that I know claims he can get it but "it'll be a few hundred dollars" which is outrageous for this...anyone here have any alternatives? Thanks! This seems like a pretty decent forum and I plan to stay around!

That looks like an IEC C4 connector so you need an IEC C3 power cord. The problem is that the C3/C4 has been removed from the standard and I don't know of any source for new ones. The good news is that it would be easy to replace it with something else.

According to the owner's manual, it runs on 115/230VAC.

Correct. It needs an external power supply.

Right. So if you find a wire that sends 120V into the back of the balancer, you’ll let the smoke out.

Thanks guys-was all set to introduce 110v to that plug!

9 Volts simply runs the sensors and screen.
