Got framing and sheathing done on walls. (Trusses not due until Friday). Due for this tomorrow night:

Rain and a thunderstorm in the evening followed by a shower late; storms can bring damaging winds

Fingers crossed, it survives. I'm in an alley so hopefully will be sheltered from most of the weather

With the number of times the weather forecast is wrong, I would say there is a very good chance a storm won't materialize. But even if a storm does happen, maybe you will get lucky and it won't be bad enough to cause any problems of consequence.

In any event, best of luck with your project and if possible, could you please show us some pictures?

If your concerned consider adding additional temporary bracing.

Good Luck

Doing that today. current status pic attached. will finish sheathing and get second top plate on today. Then get my 2000-ish extra nails installed in sheathing (about 160 per panel: inspector wants tow rows at edges 3 inches apart.)

Final thing will be more temp bracing

Tie bracing across the top plates diagonal across the corners. Should stiffen the walls considerably.

Probably too late but I'd put up all your bracing with T25 torx drive deck screws. Three reasons, 1) they are very very tough to pull out as compared to something like a common nail. 2) they remove really easily without beating up the wood, so it can be used later with just a couple of innocent holes. 3) the deck screws themselves can be reused later as well.

Thanks Guys

tightened all sill bolts yesterday. Got about 1200 nails in the sheathing: only about 2,000 to go. put two diagonal braces across each corner and 12 foot 2x4 diagonally across 3 long walls. See attached (it's a panoramic, so front wall is distorted). After to trying to shake the walls (which flexed quite a lot before yesterday), I'm confident the thing is going nowhere!

The 50 to 80 mph winds and torrential rain has yet to reach us down here. I'll bet you'll be okay for today.

That's pretty good I think. We're getting 30~40 Mph today but that's not terribly unusual here. Front coming in, supposed to get some actual fall like weather for a change.

I wish you luck, it looks like it's braced pretty good.

It's howling pretty good right now, they're saying up to 55, maybe 60mph in some area's, I seen earlier this storm in Iowa had like 7 tornadoes and straight winds 80 and 90mph.

It's pretty bad down here in Central IL. Pretty crazy winds. It looks like it's worse north. Hope it's still standing!
