Nice! I bought a 5HP Ingersol Rand in 1987. It's been "bulletproof".

I'm thinking the 1987 model was a little more bullet proof then today's models, less china made back then versus today.

Yeah, I had a talk with the owner of this shop... he's been in business for 50yrs... supplies and rebuilds electric motors.

I knew of problems that IR was having with the motors on their compressors going bad after a couple of years. He verified this claim, the Emerson motors IR was running for a few years weren't any good. They have just changed to another motor, they have not been around long enough to know the status of these. We will see.
