I finally broke down and ordered 3 kits of epoxy coat after reading about it from you guys on here. I do have one question I just had the slab ground down with a diamond grinder by the contractor. I had a bad concrete pour that was really rough. it is nice and smooth now but does have some pot marks on the surface. Question is should I just epoxy over them with a couple of coats and let it self level? Or should I mix some and trowel it into them.

I am excited about getting this done and getting my shop set up. Let me know

Thanks
Daniel

There are no Lowe's near him. Let me know if you need any further help with your project Daniel.

I checked with Lowes locally no one had it. I called Christine today and she was very helpful with getting my questions answered. I dont mind paying alittle extra to get a good product and someone who will stand behind it! Customer service is very important...

I am looking forward to getting this done!

I'm with you on getting my garage set up but I will be doing my floor until sometime after Christmas. I look forward to seeing some pics of the process.

I used Epoxy-Coat on my floor, and as I've posted many times, I am very satisfied with it.

However, I found that the "self leveling" attributes of Epoxy-Coat didn't fill any of my imperfections. Where I had gouges before, I had gouges after. If you want the gouges filled in, you need to fill them in before you pour.

I just finished mine this past weekend, looks awsome. One tip, grab a few new paint sticks, and use the marks from the epoxy coat sticks that come with the kit to make yourself a few extra ones. The stock ones have single batch markings on one side and double batch markings on the other, and after they brcome wet after the first batch, it's easy the get the lines confused.

I will say this, the product is self leveling. In some cases, with deeper voids, when you roll over it the roller will pick it up out of the void. In cases of deeper voids, I do recommend filling them first, before applying the coating.

My take on imperfections: If the garage is a show/cave, then maybe that's a concern. If you place to really use the space, you are going to create plenty of personal imperfections in short order.

Just keep in mind that if your local Lowe's doesn't have it on the shelf than you can have them get from a Lowe's that does. That's what I did and they didn't charge me shipping and used 10% off coupon.

Well after reading and thinking about it I am going to wait for the garage doors to be installed first. I dont need a stray texas shower or crazy wind blowing debris on my new floor before it cures. It should be a week at most. I also added 1 more kit to get a thicker coverage. The concrete I have has been ground with a diamond grinder but still has pits etc. I think the thick coat will help make the floor look better. I will take pictures etc and let you guys know how it turns out.
