With much debate and choices I finally ordered my box today. Between Strap-on and Mac.

I went with Mac.

MB1900A In royal blue, With Stainless steel top, Im not sure if this comes with the tool box normally but also comes with a lock box for wallet and phone in the tool box itself.
I think i got a decent deal.... $7000 out the door, I am trading a snap on box worth $4250 brand new from snap on but I only paid $1800 brand new at tech school. No tool account, just truck account meaning zero interest.

I just couldnt pull myself to pay 3-5k in interest with snap on over a large tool purchase. Now I just am going to have to fill that 88inch wide monster with tools!

What does everyone think?

Buying a new toolbox is better than the new car feeling. Its so freakin exciting and you wanna hump it when you see it first time

I remember 20 years ago when I bought my Snap-On box. I was so happy that I almost didn't go to bed that night. I think I was more happier with that box then any new car that I owned. I still love my toolbox, it's like a friend who is always right there in the garage when I need him.

Well, ah, hummm... Congrats! I would like to think that I got a similar feeling when I pulled off the masking paper and tape from my second hand box after shooting it, but that's not the same thing as brand spankin' new!

Congratulations!

Are you going to wax it first, or put the tools in and then wax it?

It should be a good box. I bought a new mb1350 in spring of '06 (I bought black). I considered it, the snappy 1022, and whatever equivalent matco there is.

The Matco wasn't a serious consideration, my dealer was a loser, and the price wasn't even remotely competitive. This after I told him I'd be comparison shopping.

I was leaning towards the snappy in black with the stainless top, when at the last second the Mac guy showed up and threw me a ridiculously low number....although I could only choose black, red, yellow, or purple to get the price. It came in over 33% lower than snap on, although it doesn't have the stainless top.

Needless to say I was sold. I could buy the top and still be ahead by a sizable amount.

The box has it flaws, but they're pretty minor really. I just switched jobs so I was able to pull some of my tools out of it and now I've got plenty of room again. It was getting pretty crowded in there for awhile.
