To get memory out of plastic hose run hot water through it and pull it straight while it cools. On the other hand if you need a coil hose wind it tight around a mandrel, run hot water through it till it relaxes and then switch to cold water. I used to have to do this kind of work with robotics and production machines. I made quite a lot of custom bent stuff with hot water or a heat gun. If you use a heat gun be very careful as it doesn't take much to melt it.

Old thread but I wanted to show a neat little tool that was posted on Garage Journal to straighten out RapidAir pipe. I built one and used it to install my home shop air system. My 30' X 40' shop has 6 drops and 2 air reels.

The pipe straightener worked very well and I will probably sell it since I now have my system installed. I found it easy to make bends but the hardest of all was making it straight!

If you want straight lines you might as well use the RapidAir FastPipe system. My (possibly flawed) understanding is that you can use the FastPipe for long, straight runs and it will interconnect with the flex pipe if needed.
