Figured it was time to post a couple pictures of my garage nothing special but it will do until we buy our next place. I have collecting the ideas that I have seen on all these great threads so when we buy our next place I will be ready to have something built.

Current garage is just a standard 2 car garage but by time you put cabinets and etc your lucky to get to car in the garage. But of course the wifes WRX is in he the garage every night.

I still have organizing to do in the garage to get it where I want it to be but it's a start right now.

Nice man! I love the blue cabinets. They really look good with the wife's WRX. Sounds like you and your wife have some cool taste in cars.
What are your desires in your next place?

She picked the WRB (World Rally Blue) for the car so it matched the cabinets! The Mercury is my Summer cruiser but unfortunately it stays parked at a storage garage due to lack of space....

Our next house will be 2000 sq ft rambler with room for a 30x40 shop with living quarters above if possible. I would like to say we are still young so the Rambler will be 10-15 yrs down the road.

What does everyone do for organization in a garage with lots of cabinets. Sometimes I don't even remember I put things at times.

Bring on the suggestions.

Octane: you've been a member almost 6 years and i think you doubled your post count with the 4 posts on this thread. good to hear from you and when you say NW do you mean PNW or where do you live? you don't have to say, but sometimes it makes it easier to recommend a store or contractor if you have your location in your profile. go in GJ profile and put in your location and if you want to click on Avatar and download a favorite picture to show up under your handle like my bison made of scraps does. of course only if you have time and want to.

about organizing that's always a tough one. first finding the right cabinets, drawers, shelving etc... and then knowing how to find stuff when you put your stuff in them.

for short term if you have a fairly good memory i'd buy some green frog painting tape and use your sharpie and put tape on the drawers and doors to let you know what's inside for now cause i'm guessing the blue cabinets are fairly new. then once you maybe have a good idea where everything is then pull off the green tape, but then your wife or kids won't know where things are if that matters.

other members do things that are more permanent and depending on your style you can do brass tags or make wood ones or just metal ones and some just buy label makers and stick on labels everywhere.

good luck and that wall of blue cabinets looks pretty nice.

even though you've been a member for years i'm guessing you joined more back then so you could see the pictures and happy to see you posting and asking questions now.

cheers

As Drives says Welcome.
I am in the never ending process of organizing my garage, and I have taken all those magnetic business cards and put sticker over the card and write on the sticker with a sharpie, then if I don't like where it is or move it I just move the magnetic card.

Drives,

Thank you for the welcome. I have been more of a lurker than poster but I plan to change that now that I posted...lol I never posted because in the past the garage has been a disaster and I know some don't care but I do;) I also like to see what others have done so when I'm lucky enough to build my dream shop I will have plenty of ideas.

Yes the PNW. We live in Puyallup.

I like the magnetic business card idea.

Hey Octane, Glad you are posting as Drives and Richard have said. Although we love pictures, I'm sure there is some point of expertise that you have and can share with all of us. It may not involve posting pics, but chime in. The worst that can happen is you get banned!

Been working on the clean up and organization of the garage. Bought a new Quincy Air Compressor for my work so figured I don't need two brought home the one that i was using at the warehouse. Bought some goodies to go with it as well. I will post pictures tomorrow when finished.

Octane: if you have questions just ask. feel free to post up pictures as you have time and want to and even though you don't like showing a mess or it quite done you might be surprised that some of us might have a better idea to solve an issue that you hadn't thought of before you fix it your way.

do as you wish cause it's your thread and your home, but we're here willing to help or admire.

cheers
