Just picked up some impact tools and could use some information/advice.

There are two half inch Ingersoll Rand IR231 ‘type A’ ½ inch guns, one in pieces, the other works.

Two MAC Japanese AW140 made 3/8 impact guns, one in pieces, one that works fine.

A IR107 air ratchet in 3/8 that just blows air. This was supposed to work but just releases the air when connected and the lever is squeezed.
Also got part of a ¼ air ratchet, haven’t looked to see what the part is.

Before I tear it apart, any idea on what would be wrong with the IR107?

Are the AW140 and IR231 guns worth fixing? Or just leave them for parts? Scrap them?

How much would a ‘head’ for a ¼ inch MAC cost?
Any input would be appreciated.

Astro? I will do some research and see if I can find a picture that matches.

Anyone have a good link to schematics for any of these?
Got to find out why the ratchet doesn't work and I would like to a have some directions before yanking it apart.

The company that was building the IR stuff is now owned by CP ... bought them after IR ditched their relationship and moved everything to China. The Mac gun is probably from SP Air who supplies guns to Mac. Parts for teh IR stuff can be purchased at Power Tool Repair in Akron ... the best air tool repair center in the US

Power Tool Repair in Akron doesn't seem to have a website, but I will look later. Ohio is just a little far to drive:)

Merkava_4 thanks for the links. I found some PDF's from another place but these will be better I think.

I will have to do more research soony, but my wife presented me with a long list of must do stuff for this weekend so my new toys will have to sit a couple days.
Can't complain, she wasted yesterday helping me get tools and tool boxes home from LA, and never complains when I spend money and time on them.

No worries on where PTR is ... they offer the fastest turnaround in the industry. If you're in the LA area try Fejes Tools if you don't want to ship to Akron. Fejes is an authroized service center for CP and IR
