Nice choices. I remember when I bought that set of [non-striking] prybars (like 15 years ago). I wondered what I would need all those sizes for. Well, wouldn't you know that I don't think there's a single job I do around here that there's not one or more of them in my tool cart when done.

Nice buys!!

Hope you do better than me. I'm Still waiting on an order I placed with Snap-On over a month ago. Even though the site said everything was in stock turns out some stuff was backordered. grrrrrr. I would have just tracked down my local guy if I had known.

I get my orders within 1-2 days, I live extremely close to the warehouse.

That's a lot of tools. Did you order the Snappy stuff through Chad's website? He would really appreciate it if you did.

Ordered through my rep at school, I was their so it was a convenience thing.

How come you didnt support your local dealer?

student discount?

in my opinion snap on doesnt have that great of student program. I mean you DO get snap on tools and you DO get a discount but its only general stuff. Thats one reason i buy most if not all my stuff from matco. everything is awarded a student discount i believe. i havent bought one thing from matco that i didnt get my discount on. i still have the full limit on my snap on account. but you gotta nice order headed your way for sure

I like the purchases,but not the prices. $150+ for a 4pc 1/2" dr.extension set???

You could've bought this set for $20 with a lifetime warranty.
http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=99883

I only paid $72 because of my discount. And not to bash the HF extensions but to me the extra $50 is worth the Snap-on's If I really wanted to spend less on extensions id grab some SK, or craftsman.

I get roughly 55% off on all that stuff, just to clear things up.

I understand but with a lifetime warranty Harborfreight and Snap-on is on the same level.
unless you want bragging rights or maybe do a little "showboatin." You're going to make the same amount money with either brand. No?

I would agree if we were talking about tools for a homeowner, but I will be using my tools every day in a work environment. And I for one do not feel like taking my gas guzzling monster on a 30 Min drive to warranty a tool.

No disrespect, that is just how I see it. I will not lie ether...I do enjoy a high quality tool, so that does factor in as well.

Is it alright if you if we make some tools in the United States of America?!!? If it was up to me, there'd be a 1400% tariff on your mother effen HF tools.

But see thats it,alot of Snapon tools are coming from overseas,Hence the discontinuation
of "Made in the USA" on alot of there tools. Now if most of there tools are now being made in Taiwan i rather pay less for HF tools which also come from Taiwan.

Take a look at alot of the tools you now get from Snap-on,you might be surprised.

Nice Purchase's, You did the right thing using your snap on discount while you could, I dont care what they say, comparing harbor freight to snap on soley because they both have a lifetime warranty is Piss poor logic coming from someone who doesnt understand that "time is money". Cant wait for pics...

Snap-on hardline is still very much made in the U.S.A.

Blue-Point tools are not Snap-on hardline.

A poorly made tool with a lifetime warranty will give you a lifetime of poorly made tools. You don't buy tools for the warranty, you buy tools that will last and not fail in the first place.

More and more of your quality Harbor Freight tools no longer come from Taiwan unless it's their professional line. India seems to be the emerging country of origin for Harbor Freight these days.

Take a look at alot of the tools you now get from Snap-on,you might be surprised.

The core Snap on hard line is still US made and hopefully will continue that way. However, Snap on has to compete with the internet, Harbor Freight, Sears, and others for Tech's shrinking tool money. As such, the Blue Point line of tools seems to be growing by leaps and bounds to meet the demand for lower priced tools. There will always be the age old arguement that my harbor freight tools can do the job just as good as a more expensive brand. However, every tech knows time is money. Your tools have to be strong enough to be used hard for 10-12 hours a day 5-6 days a week, forever. I don't think Harbor Freight tools have the stamina to perform at that level. Occasional use, they're probably fine. Real mechanics use real tools and they don't come from Harbor Freight.

Back to the thread subject, enjoy your new tools.
