I stumbled on this site a couple of days ago and have kind of been lurking ever since.
My first thoughts were I don't have anything to add here and the more I read the more I think maybe this is what I have been looking for.
A little background info. I have been a mechanic for the last 30 years and am an avid woodworker. I have a nice brick 3 bedroom home on 2 acres with 2 attached 2 car garages. That still wasn't enough room so I built a brick 12x16 lawn shed with a loft. Still not enough room but I will just have to deal with it. Lol
Looking forward to hanging out and contributing when I can.

Greetings, Mike! Ex-Hoosier also, Dana Guy. Where-abouts you located? My lady grew up 15 mi. north of ft. Wayne. A "laker".

Mechanic turned woodworker? Interesting. Do you still work, or retired? Did you lay that brick yourself? Ask, because I wanted a whole brick-veneer house, so layed 12,500 of them learning how! Pic, if you want to see it, say!

Good to be here! monkey

Thanks for the welcome.
I live about 10 miles from Lafayette. Been here a little over 10 years now.
Still bending wrenches 50-60 hours a week. Keeps the lights on I guess.
Wood working is just a hobby. I mostly build furniture just for my use. Figured if I started selling it that it would become a job, and I already have one of those, don't need another.
The shed I built and bricked myself. It turned out pretty nice. It's not perfect but it's still nicer than most. I must admit the Hispanic crew that bricked the house were fast at it and made it look real simple. They are definitely talented at their trade.
