That's a no-no around here. As Far as I know that is a no-no everywhere, there needs to be separation.

What cable did you run out to your building?

Waiting for County to inspect electrical rough-in. Electricians had compressor & lift functioning yesterday, but everything needed to be disconnected and laid-bare for today's inspection. Also waiting on first quote for HVAC - something similar to this, but I'm sure more expensive! https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=411406

That requirement varies by city and county. As a practical matter, most permitting agencies will check zoning, setback, allowable building type and size, none of which requires detailed plans. They typically provide no meaningful review of plans. The most they will do is check to see that all plan sheets are stamped.

In Glendale CA (borders LA) city engineers spend weeks checking your engineers calculations, asking for clarifications, and they always ask for some stupid F'n change. And if it is new, they want to make sure the trim color doesn't clash with the walls. And don't even get me started if you want to put up a sign : )

Got the security gate installed today (should keep my dog safe in the garage), and more gravel was delivered for grading the area around the garage apron. I also ordered the final building inspection from the County.

Yes, all I had to do was permits, grading, garage doors, electric, concrete aprons and step out for man-door, and HVAC.

BTW, I passed the county final inspection on Friday!

Looks like 1:12 pitch, with galvalume roof? Charcoal color? Is there anything you would change about the building now that you have it up.

35x50x16, 2:12 roof, Hawaiian Blue roof, Charcoal walls, 3" insulation - roof & walls, 5" concrete slab. Just wished I had budgeted for all the extras - electrical, HVAC, overhead doors, additional concrete & grading... Extras were almost as much as the main building.
