Well my name is Matt, im 21 and im from Georgia. I live with my mom which im honestly not ashamed of. I am an automotive tech. student and work full time for a local printing company, and i work part time at Advance Auto Parts. I know how to use a paper catalog, and my brain to find the right parts if that helps me from being mistaken for a dummie who doesnt belong in a parts house. Anyways i have hobbies that may not match to the trend of this forum but i share the same love for cars, tools, etc.

This is my project vehicle, it may not be an old school muscle car, or a vintage german sports car but it suites me well :)

I currently have no garage, and lack the space to build one but i forsee one in my future it just takes time. I just started working toward a professional collection of tools and they should be arriving in about 2 weeks so i cant wait.

Wow that's a clean van - what are your other hobbies, you'd be surprised at the odd stuff we like here.

Welcome to the board Matt, cool van!

What kind of tools did you order? Post pics when you get them!
i ordered a decent selection of Snap on tools and a few craftsman tools. Aswell as a snap on tool box. Ill definitley post pics when i get everything in.

Welcome aboard, Matt. You drop a V8 in that Astro yet?

I have a 350 block and a about 50% of what ill need to rebuild the motor with everything new but rods but i lost interest in the idea and i may just rebuild the 4.3 thats in it. its a 1986 astro and current is having some ignition issues so it has to be done either way.

I am deeply addicted to car audio.

This is the install i just did in my moms truck. Im not your average guy at the red light with it wide open. My systems are above the average kid running around harassing the neighborhood. I compete on a professional level and i respect my neighbors, and fellow drivers. The video was taken in the middle of the afternoon with the concent of my immediate neighbors.

That's some nice work and gear. That's one hell of an enclosure. 8 x 12s?

I know there's at least a few car audio guys here. Are you just competing in SPLs?

Its 8 10's. I compete in Bassrace which is a music based organization. I have good friends who are all out SPL/Burp guys but i enjoy being musical. the amp in the video was nothing more than a Kicker ZX850.4, i now have a Sundown Audio Saz-2500d on them. I finnaly found a happy point with my moms truck where its louder than anyone in my town except for 1 or 2 friends of mine. and until someone shows up and proves to be louder i wont bother. my simple goal was for her to be able to shut down any punk kid at a red light without any worries ;)

Mine on the other hand is destin to be a trailer queen.

Very cool Sir. As an auto tech student and audio guy, do you do installs for side work? Have you worked as an installer?

I do it on the side but if your willing to offer up help and you want to learn i wont charge you as long as its something basic. And i refuse to work as an installer. this is my slice of the pie that i refuse to let get turned into "work". I already enjoy working on cars alot and i can handle doing that for a career. so im good

I'm good, but thanks for the offer. I was just curious and I'm a long way from Georgia. As a journeyman tech and shop manager, I would hope I wouldn't need the 'basic' training...:)

It's good that you're not going to let a hobby become "work", that's kinda what I was wondering.

Anyhow; Stick around, post lots and enjoy the board.

re-reading it i can see how youd think i was offering. I will help anyone out if i can but that sometimes leads to people taking advantage of me and i dislike that. But none the less its good to meet you, and i like the atmosphere of this forum. I may venture into the classifieds section before long.
