Ryan, I want to ask this question in the most respectful way possible....

You have quite a thread going currently about the events at GM today, "Buying GM at $1.81 a share."

But a thread on the HAMB about G.M. was closed earlier today. The HAMB is the car site, this one is not.

Just trying to understand the difference in the two sites. Why the difference in policies?

I want to be a better member of both, but if I don't understand the differences, it makes it a little tough.

Thanks for your patience. And again, I'm not trying to be provocative here.

I see now that it is closed. Answered my own question. No politics. Got it. Obviously it is a VERY emotional issue, and lots of guys needed a place to get it off their chests. Thread closed.

Well, I guess not. Just looked at 9pm and it's still going. So I'm back to my original question: Are there different ground rules for The Forum at Garage Journal vs. HAMB at Jalopy Journal?

I noticed that the last post here was from the moderator weighing in.

Again, I'm trying to be respectful here....

Hey phartman - fwiw - I'm up here in Michigan. Yesterday (GM filed bankruptcy at 7:53 am), the Mrs and I were in the car for several hours. We were listening to talk radio out of Detroit. Man, talk about some fired up, angry, disappointed, depressed, confused people..... The announcers didn't know what way to guide/direct the callers' conversations.

I'm going to cut Ryan some slack and say that until the emotions die down a little bit, it may be best for the Garage Journal to stay away from the whole GM debacle.
