like most jobs> change of plans, looks to be raining for the next 5 days

so concrete is on hold, but I did get 4- quad plug boxs mounted and wired down each side and 1-220 plug on each side. gives me a total of 32-110 plugs and 2-220 plugs.

What do you, guys think about lighting??
I have looked at 3 220 volt 400watt
or 16 T-8 4ft fixtures
Any other ideas, can't get enough landing lamps.

All very cool but I kind of got lost. The storage/Garage is from a DC10? The red/white aircraft is that of a 727. What is being used where is my question. Thanks. Do you have the regstration of the aircraft.

Silverplate- The shop is built from a DC- 10, the area behind the cockpit and before the wings, was also cut just above the floor. it would had been to tall to haul, with out more special moving permits.
The storage buildings are 727's with the floors and overhead bins still in.got lazy and just filet off the cargo bay and slice it off for length. plane # gets retired, all maintence records go with the engines and misc. parts

djd99-
If it ever stops raining, 2 weeks to finish. My other garage is rotted at the base plate and leaning, Time to get out. Thats one of the reasons for using the plane (no rot) another is it's only 7'5" tall inside. I've gotten so addicted to building these motorized bikes, I have no room for anything else. So I use a 727 for storage and the DC-10 for building

Those are cool...what engine(s) do you power your whizzers with?

they are about 70cc 2 stroke engine. I enjoy porting them, milling the head and cylinder. They start out with 6 to 1 compression.. end up with 9.5 to 1, with a sprocket change 45t to 32t.. cruise at 30mph, top 42mph ..............average 60 mile per 1/2 gal

I mostly build "Beach Cruiser" bikes, have done a few 3-wheelers and only 1 uni-cycle

It won't be a problem, The aluminun is a alloy containiing copper and zinc. the parts only get a dull gray from weatherizing.

Time flys- it's been 4 years since i first received this plane

You could haul them with a 1-ton dually or bigger, but the trailer MUST be LOW cause we get permits for 13'6" and most times got to detour for bridge height and road width. I'll PM you later

If ya want to make it quit raining, just pressure wash the outside, When I first set the plane here I should have seam sealed it and then painted, before all the tree sap and moss grew on it.

Too Cool! In my younger days I once had visions of turning this one into
a bachelor pad... Ended up salvaging it (seen here)

Strangely enough there's another one next door to my place now.

Where's the Pex pipe and reinforced area for a lift? These are some way cool sheds and shops. I've got this thread bookmarked, way cool.

have a 12'5" twin post-too tall,
rather use as a bike shop. building 2 stroke rides

Trucks are here, with their wipers on.:headscrat

Chop saw- ts400 for the small stuff and a husavarna1100 for the big stuff.
Both with diamond dust blades- LOTS of coolant( water and water solable cutting oil) to keep the blades from gumming up.

I live in Tennessee. While chewing up a wing, one day at work, I'm thinking, there has to be a easier/ quicker way to dispose of the frame. When I thought to use the planes as storage buildings and this one was big enough for a shop

"Hey Boss... can I have a piece of this ol' plane? Would make a swell shop."

"Sure, just do it on your own time. And gas up the lift when you're done!"

"Thanks Boss!"

This woudl make the best flight-sim console for the kids! Get some big flatscreen monitors attached to the windows, rig up the controls to the PC and have at 'er! Be the envy of all your friends!

So, he didn't notice the semi-truck hauling an entire fuselage out of the airport and heading off down the highway? Not only is that brazenly sneaky, you have the dream-boss with zero eyesight! LOL Well done!

Just like my Concrete guy calls me asking if I know where his crew and missing power trowell could be:wtf:

Haha! "Uh, gee, pffbbbb.. I dunno, haven't seen them in a while." :)

Oh.. the plane is sitting directly on a pile of gravel then the concrete is poured inside, is that right? No worries about it sinking over time? That's a pretty cool approach and very simple!

top soil is scrapped off, the plane is sitting on rock ledge, We have no freeze depth problems. I't built like they build "Slab Houses"> spead out the gravel, form and pour.
