I just bought my first house! It doesn't have the dream garage I wanted but it's better than nothing.

We have an attached one car, a detached two car, and a huge driveway for a suburban neighborhood.

The previous owner for some reason built a two car but only installed a one car door. Kind of annoying but can be fixed later. One good thing they did do right was install a sub panel with plenty of power.

The attached garage was briefly set up as another bedroom so it has a gas line ran to it for a ventless heater and is well insulated. It's pretty large for a one car.

Another plus is the large yard with plenty of room to expand.

I've got a lot of work to do to have what I want but it's a huge step up from the friend's driveway I had been using the last few years.

That detached garage is such a nice space. You got yourself a great blank canvas to work on.

That's what I was thinking. Now I can run all the outlets and wire I want before I close it up with good insulation.

Congrats on the new home, and work spaces. Just a thought, but you may want to consider running your electrical surface mounted in conduit. This way you can put your 120 and 220 outlets where ever you end up needing them, and can change things up should you need to at any time. Once they are in the wall they are there for good. Cheers, Mike

I moved here to Utah from New Jersey in 2013 and left most of my tools in storage in NJ. Now that I have a place for them I hooked up my truck and trailer and drove back to NJ to load up as much as I could. It's gonna take way more than one trip but its a start.

My trailer had a blow out in the middle of nowhere Iowa and my spare wasn't in much better shape. I pulled off an exit with no service's and started calling around for a new tire on a Sunday.

After a dozen calls and about an hour of dirt roads, we found a store that had the same size tire but didn't mount tires.

We stand in the parking lot trying to figure out what to do and a nice older farmer comes over to us and says he has a tire mounting machine and will do it for us. So after a four-hour side trip, we're back on the road.
