Those remote style hose clamp pliers are worth their weight in gold! Without these, you will be cursing most of the hose clamps that you will encounter on today's cars. I have the Craftsman version (around $40) and absolutely LOVE them. Highly recommended.

I would go for the Mayhew set for the reason that I have almost always found single purpose tools without interchangeable parts to be more durable and work better than multipurpose tools. You get both sets of Mayhew hose clamp pliers for the same price as the KD set and as you stated you have no use for the other tips. Being able to swap between the two styles without having to change attachments is a real advantage. I do not own either set so I can not give a "hands on" review. I may also be a little bit biased toward Mayhew because they are a local company here in western MA.

Btw- The Craftsman remote hose clamp pliers eschoendorff mentioned also looked to be of high quality. The ones I saw were made in France so I assume they are supplied by Facom.

I have Craftsman hose clamp plier and i paid it 30 dollars in two year and used it almost every week as NO ONE have this tool in Mercury/Lincoln and Chrysler/Jeep Dealership. so they just borrow mine!!! i told them that they can buy one as it is cheap and lifetime warranty.....

I believe that you are right. The Cman ones are made in France... FACOM would be the most likely culprit. If it were me, I'd save $40, skip the Mayhews and buy the Cman version.
