Just got into karting and love your shop.
So what/where are you racing?
Just came up from painting my frame in the basement (shop is too nice to paint in! LOL). Two coats of spray on bedliner, sanded down with 500 grit w/d and top coated with brake caliper paint to make it shiny. Should be tough as hell. Opening day is only a month away and I have no idea how I'm going to get everything done.
ProGun3400,
The shelves I bought from the previous owner of the building. They were almost brand new since he just used them to store file boxes on. I bought like 20 of them @ $30 ea. Sold all but a few of them to my employees / friends. I think they make great workbench / bar bottoms as long as you don't need enclosed storage.
New Castle is about 45 minutes from Indy, and the track is right on I-70.
*And anyone who wants to try out a real kart vs. a rental is welcome to jump in mine. I think the track charges $20 for a day pass / insurance and we can borrow safety gear. The only catch is size. You have to fit real tight in a kart, and my seat will accommodate someone from about 5'8"-6', with a 28"-32" waist. It's a kick to watch a guy that has never driven a real kart take one out for the first time. Normal reaction when the pull in after a few laps is to pop open the visor and scream "Holy Sh&$!". These ain't toys...
