5 internet points to anyone who knows what this cute little guy is. Should be moving into a shop space this month sometime...fingers crossed. Otherwise, I have no idea where the hell I'm putting this.

Oh snap! When you said you bought a laser I thought you meant like crosshairs for the table. You are big time now... Looking forward to the projects.

Congrats on the laser, that's similar to the ones I was talking about.

Haha yea, it's an actual deep engraving/marking laser. It's a 50W YAG laser, supposedly equivalent to the new fiber systems, just bigger and needs the chiller to cool the head. Couldn't pass it up for the price :) Timing couldn't have been any more perfect since I was researching buying a new one. The deal sealer was finding out it was worth 4x what I paid for it as a trade in on a new system if it came down to it. This will save me quite a bit of money. It has an antique front end, running Windows 95, so I'm going out on a limb a bit and having a new controller installed. I was able to boot the computer, but couldn't work the laser because of an issue with the chiller, so I'm going to have the upgrade done and have them look at that as well. It's also possible to upgrade the laser source to fiber and have basically a brand new setup at a fraction of the cost.

Your projects just keep getting cooler and cooler.

Thank you sir. Hoping to be in a shop this month and there full time in 2-3 years if everything works out.

3/8 steel header flanges and some 8x10 1/4" aluminum foot plates for a customer.

Two custom pet screens for my brother. He's redoing his landscaping and wanted something to keep the dogs from destroying the screen doors. They are at powdercoat right now and will get a white with black vein powder. Should look rad.

A comparator for $100!!!!! That my man, is a steal. I couldn't find a bulb in Ireland never mind a whole comparator for 100 bucks. So jealous.

Also picked up a Burr King 760 with a box of probably 100 belts for $75, a Hermann Schmidt squaring block for $200 and some other small misc tooling, slitting saw arbors and a Yuasa 5C indexer. Get some better pics when I get a chance. Been swamped with stuff lately.

I also dropped off the laser for some upgrades. It's a YAG from 1996, and was running Windows 95 and some archaic software for actually driving the laser. Taking a little bit of a gamble and having it upgraded to a new controller, computer & software. It's not cheap, but hopefully should be relatively equivalent to the capabilities of a new fiber laser for a fraction of the price.

Wasn't an auction. Private sale via CL. I'm literally on the hunt all the time. It's pretty much how I've built my entire garage. Either through deals, upgrading or bargaining or flips and profits.

Wow, Kaz, your projects keep getting cooler and cooler!:eyecrazy:

Thanks man. Appreciate the feedback. I've really been trying to get better at Illustrator, which is where I do most of my 'artsy' type stuff. I've had some real headaches trying to figure stuff out, especially things that are quirks of the program and not my doing. You just start to realize that you can't do everything effectively with one program and need to learn multiple things to get the best products, and even move files between them.

I've had really good luck with Fusion360 for CAD/CAM. It's an awesome product and I suggest it for anyone that wants to learn (it's free).

Sign mounted for a new set of town homes in Anaheim, CA. I like doing signs, want to try to get more business for them.

Great stuff Buddy :rocker:

Thanks Mike!

Is that out of stainless?

Looks great. Very professional but simple. I like it.

It's just 13g CRS, painted. She needed it quick so it got rattlecan hammertone silver. Didn't have time for powder.

I'm all over the corner bracket's :D

Thanks! If you need some let me know :). Those are 2.5". The windowed ones are 1/8" and I like them better than the plain 3/16" ones. Personally I think the 3/16" are overkill by a long shot. Just trying a few different things for a customer.

Kaz, how much for12 of the windowed corner brackets? They would be cool for my truck project. The sign was great, too.

By the way ladies and gents, I just received my round sign from Kazix and it is beautiful. If you are looking for anything done in metal Kaz is your go to guy. His work is fantastic, his prices are reasonable, and the shipping is fast and secure. I recommend we all support this GJ member.

Hey Mike, thanks so much for the kind words. I'm glad you liked the sign. I think the 90* gussets are going to be $3.50. They are 1/8" CRS and 2.5" on each leg, although I could adjust to any size that you would need.

Because I don't have enough projects as it is, but I couldn't pass this up. '74 CB550 that belonged to my dad. He last rode it in '82 (I was born in '81) when he laid it down and sold it to his friend and riding buddy. His buddy was an engineer for Honda until he retired in '99. This bike and another ('78 CB550) were at his property outside of Galena, MO. He told my brother and I that if we wanted them, they were ours. So we drove 3400 miles in 7 days to get them and come home. I'm sure it won't be the fastest project ever, but I'm so stoked to have a piece of my my dad's history and hopefully bring it back to life. Basically planning on keeping the frame and motor and rebuilding a lot of it with updated stuff. My base idea right now is a donor GSX-R of some sort to use the front end and brakes and I'll build the rest of the stuff that I need. My dad is 66 this year and I want to make sure he's around to see it finished.

If you think you might do a lot of stud type installs consider buying a stud welder. Way faster and you will find other things to use it for. Like the two color signs.

Any suggestions? I know there's machines for doing that type of stuff, but not really sure what to look at. Being able to do steel and aluminum would be nice.
