It's been on the list for a while. Finally scored a deal on a good Baldor for it, so bought that and ordered a Teco VFD. Just need to bore the pulley out little, since the new motor has a larger shaft. It's 5/8 instead of 1/2". Although I might see if I can buy a pulley somewhere. McMaster has them, but I'm not exactly sure what type of pulley I have. Too many options.

It is actually lol. I need to re-run a few wires, get it leveled and just get some accessory stuff buttoned up, but I ran the warm up program they had left in it and loaded some tool holders.

I’m so stoked. Pretty much a perfect fit. Bigger than my last machine but not overwhelming. Feels just like a mountain of stuff to still do but at least it’s running.

The best haha. I was sweating when it showed up. I saw the form under the tarp and had a min mi panic attack. Then he took the tarp off and I took a look at it. I had heard what I needed to do and that’s what worked out. Once it was inside I was relieved. Surprisingly enough, even at 8500 lbs it’s pretty easy to skate around. I think I actually like how it’s sitting, because that’s not what was planned, but I could move it with a couple buddies if need be. Originally I was going to park it like a car, 90* to how it is now. But this felt better and allowed me some room to have a new garage door installed.

New garage door - some of th best money I’ve spent on the house. He was able to raise the track up 3” on the horizontals, the door entirely clears the opening when it’s up, its super quiet and insulated and I had the Liftmastee side mount, which is just awesome. Super happy and it was only $1600 installed.

Thanks. I love it so far. The Fadal control is just so easy to interact with. Runs super smooth at 10k rpm and I can tell it's just going to be a beast. Can't way to start running some more parts on it.

I forget what its called, and you probably know this, but you have something turned on that's affecting your cutter comp when it gets to the corners/radius of that part in the vid.

It should be a smooth transition.

Yea lol, I figured that out already. It's the G8/G9. That was literally the first post I put out trying to make sure the DNC was working, along with everything else. That's running G9, which is some sort of accuracy mode with won't let it move until it completes each block. I need to remove and add a G8 instead for smooth movement.

It's an awesome machine so far. I love it. It's basically everything I want short of buying a brand new Brother with all the bells and whistles. I have some work lined up already and it's going to embarrass my old machine. My other machine went to a good friend though that will put it to work for exactly what he needs. He also gave me a bunch of Cat40 tooling and is really familiar with the Fadals when I need help, so it all works out.

The new Blaser 735 coolant is awesome so far. I added some aquarium bubblers, some filtration and a skimmer to help keep it all nice.

I've used Blasser, great stuff.

You have to stay ahead of the coolant on the fadals that's for sure.

I'm definitely digging the Blaser stuff so far. Petty as it sounds, the clear is nice. Overall, there's not much smell and it's relatively sweet, but doesn't seem to make a mess so far either.

Fixture Friday. These brackets need a tapped hole and radius on the end. Figured I'd build a fixture to do multiples at once to speed it up since I'm hoping that I'll be making these in at least decent size runs at some point. Made these as bolt in vise jaws, so hopefully I will be able to clamp and locate 5 at a time.

Lol yea. Trying to get the part so tight into the smallest stock. Set the part a hair too high on the first op. Already fixed. These were mainly to dial the fixture and process in. Doh. I’m loving the tumbler. It’s leagues above the cheap ones.

It's been quite some time since I checked in on your thread kazix. Congrats on the addition and more importantly the latest and greatest for the shop. That's a really nice machine and I'm sure you'll recoup that investment in no time at all.
