We are getting ready to embark on the interior finish of our garage condo in Kansas City. The unit is located in Stonegate MotorPlaza south of the Kansas City metro.

Permits and subs have been lined up and we hope to begin work next week. I hope it turns out as nice as many other garages on the forum. I have been looking for year. If you have a cool, great idea share! We'll see how it goes.

Had some paperwork and scheduling issues, but just finished up the stairs, framing, and rails today.

You can private message me if you'd like to get together and see the complex and the unit.

I will use it for a combination of storage, business, and entertaining. Almost like a second home really.

The business use is minimal on these, not a warehouse or storage facility. These are designed for a community of car lovers. My garage business really dovetails very nicely with the concept (flooring and organization). Weekends will be filled with tinkering, polishing, driving cars, etc. A driving track is planned on the adjacent property.

I will post updates when there is something new. Hoping to near completion in 4 to 6 weeks, but holidays, and schedules could delay that.

I wonder how many supercar I could buy with the price of the condo and HOA dues.
*Sigh* I suppose if I have to ask, I couldn't afford it.
I've looked into these in my metro area, and though I do like the concept, (awesome bachelor pad to take the mistress!)
You really do need a some disposable income to sustain the lifestyle.
Having a neighbor who has a nicer toy than you can be problematic!
Very cool build and digs, enjoy your new club house, looking good so far!.
Gotta get one of those hideaway beds for when the wife kicks you out of the house!

You mention a track view, do you have anymore information for the track? This is in a great area with lots of amenities close by.

View from the balcony on a frosty morning. Driving Track should be right out there.

Plumbers completed all rough-in plumbing and installed the shower in upper bathroom. First thing to be done on budget, and ahead of schedule!!!

Track is going to be a driving track, not race track. Nothing is set in stone on the size of the track yet.

It looks like the website is rather quiet about the presence of a track... Those kind of things get tricky sometimes... Hope it all works out for you and the community.

It's been a while since I have posted. Travel and holidays have put myself and the crews a bit behind schedule.

From a couple weeks ago:

Drywall has been finished. I'll get pics of that in the next couple days.

I like the two mezzanine design. I am jealous of the future track and the fact that you can use wood for steps. St. Louis county is being a pain on our mezzanines - all steel with with poured concrete floors and stair treads.

Codes have been the biggest issue here too! Not that you have to comply, just what they are. They are a blend of codes, and fit/don't fit into anything neatly.

I concur, I like the dual stairs mezzanine too.

A first class bar with three big screen TVs and a short walk to the loo. Does it get any better? The red and blue accent walls really pop and they complement the floor treatment.
