I just placed a small order with KC Tool for some drive couplings for female ratchets, all of which they had in stock in 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2".

I asked about their dropping the "Wiha" line.
Apparently they have had some issues with the vendor, and opted to increase their inventory of "Heyco" - replacing the "Wiha" products they carried with the "Heyco" brand.

I fully support this. It didn't take me long to realize there's so many other brands that are way better. That and of course half of their products are made vietnam so yeah, will never buy wiha again. In my experience it seems like wiha is the default go-to "quality" tool that is a step up from big box brands. This may have been true in 2008, but definitely not the case now. Unfortunately many companies are still buying wiha tools for production/assembly and not knowing their are superior tools out there that are the same price.

I've spotted some deals lately on Wiha brand tools and almost pulled the trigger; then I saw the country of manufacture and saw it was Vietnam or Taiwan (despite having the traditional German frosted finish) and decided against it. If I'm going to add tools to my collection, I'll add higher end stuff than Asian imports. Gedore makes nice looking stuff and I have a few wrenches of theirs that I came by on accident. Not the India Gedore but West German made ones.
