I found these 6" sissors at a junk store yesterday for $1.00

What does the "22" stamped on the inside of the blade up by the handle mean? I looked up the logo and found that they can't be newer than 1940, but I really doubt that the "22" is the date - who would date scissors?

Thanks!

Keen Kutter was at one time the house brand of tools for a now defunct hardware store chain. If I remember correctly they started up around the end of the civil war and continued until around the end of WW2. It's very possible they were made in 1922, but I think its more likely it has some signifance to use. Someone familiar with Traditional Tailoring or Seamstress work would better be able to answer.
